For information on places to get fire permits, click here The Oliver Paipoonge Fire and Emergency Services is committed to providing quality service in a safe, yet fast and efficient way to all people in the municipality as well as mutual aid to surrounding townships of Kaministiquia, Conmee, O'Connor, Gillies, Neebing, Gorham and Ware, Lappe, and Shebandowan. The Fire and Emergency Services operate out of 6 halls in the municipality, and has approximately 50 members. Oliver Paipoonge Fire and Emergency Services volunteers currently protect over 5,900 residents and approximately 1,930 private occupied dwellings in the municipality (information © Statistics Canada 1999). There are approximately 50 members of the Oliver Paipoonge Fire and Emergency Services department. These members are fire fighters, emergency first responders and there are members that are both fire fighters and emergency first responders. There are six fire halls in Oliver Paipoonge whichare located in Murillo, Kakabeka, Stanley, Intola, Rosslyn and Slate River. Overall, in the township there are 6 Pumper Trucks,6 Rescue Vehicles,3 Tankers, 1 Chief's Van, and 1 4x4 Pumper all distributed throughout the municipality. These volunteers respond to many calls including fire calls, motor vehicle accidents, traumas,medical related calls, and to mutual aid calls to surrounding municipalities. Any person interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter or emergency first respondermust be a resident of Oliver Paipoonge.
