Stretching from the west of Thunder Bay, Ontario to Kakabeka Falls, the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge ranks by area, among the largest municipalities in the Thunder Bay District.  Established on January 1, 1998 through the amalgamation of the Township of Oliver and the Township of Paipoonge, the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge a safe and healthy environment for a wide range of opportunities and experiences. 

The Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge encompasses 350 square kilometers of vast stretches of pristine wilderness and farmland.  It is bisected by the natural beauty of the Kaministiquia River with scenic views of the NorWester Mountain Range and supports a wide range of destination sites that are interesting to tourists and residents alike.  The Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge boasts exceptional outdoor recreational opportunities. 

The Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge is a focal point for transportation, manufacturing, service, and forestry industries.  The Villages of Kakabeka Falls, Murillo, and Rosslyn offer a small community atmosphere with retail and service businesses.
